Two officers from the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office graduated from the Jail Commander Certification Academy(JCCA) last month. Cpl. Scott Hargis was awarded at the 21st Annual Sheriff’s Association Conference on September 21st. Staff Sgt. Travis Givens also earned his certificate but was unable to attend the awards ceremony. The training is intense and requires over 120 hours of training in every aspect of jail operations. The pair spent two years traveling to trainings, completing coursework and passing required tests in order to earn their Jail Commander certification.
