Bids to lease Duchesne County land for oil and gas extraction was approved by the Duchesne County Commission this month. The County received bids from Transcontinent Oil on two pieces of property. The first piece, located in the Mt. Emmons Townsite, was approved in the amount of $3,934 dollars for a three year term and a lease royalty rate of 3/16ths. The second piece of property, located in the “Township 3 South, Range 4 West” area of Duchesne County, was approved in the amount of $255 dollars for a three year term and lease royalty rate of 3/16ths. The approval on both was a unanimous decision by the Duchesne County Commission.
