Duchesne Arts Council Hosting Winter Art Festival at Centennial Event Center

Find your snowy muse this Saturday and take part in the Winter Art Festival in Duchesne. The Duchesne Arts Council is sponsoring the unique winter time event on Friday, December 7th, from 3 to 6pm with a special art escape for adults from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Although the event is free, some of the specialized painting opportunities have a cost. From 3 to 6pm there will be free kids crafts sponsored by Duchesne High School FCCLA. From 3 to 5pm there will a special painting opportunity called ‘Yeti’ for children 8 and older which costs $15. Then from 5 to 6pm is a free concert put on by local musicians. Following the concert at 6:30pm is a chance for adults to have an art get away and paint ‘Silent Night’ for $25. There will be refreshments and a healthy helping of holiday cheer, all to be found at the Duchesne County Centennial Event Center. Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
