It’s more positive news as firefighters are making progress on the Dollar Ridge Fire. As of last report
on Monday night
, the fire reached 45 percent containment and the size was estimated at 52,068 acres. The continued effort being made to contain the fire has been monumental with total personnel on the fire at 863 Monda

. Stories continue to spread of the generosity of the community towards the evacuees as well as special stories involving the firefighters themselves. Dalton Hotshots, a group currently assigned to the Dollar Ridge Fire, shared Monday a picture they took with a bride and groom. The couple had planned to get married at the groom’s grandfather’s home that the grandfather built. Tragically, that home was in the fire’s evacuated area meaning the couple had to make other arrangements. Amazingly, the fire crew was able to save the house and the newlyweds made a visit to meet the hotshot crew in person on their big day in order to offer a sincere Thank You on behalf of their entire family.
