Local leaders are seeking partners to bring a program through the Utah Office of Tourism to Uintah County. Vernal City, Naples City, Uintah County Economic Development and Travel and Tourism, and the Vernal Chamber are combining funds to bring in Roger Brooks International that provides in depth community assessments. The total cost of the assessment is $25,000 dollars, half of which is covered by the Utah Office of Tourism. The remaining $12,500 dollars will be a pool of funding from local sources. Uintah County is providing $6,250 dollars while Vernal, Naples, and the Vernal Chamber will each pay $1,500 dollars which leaves a balance of $1,500 dollars that local businesses and partners are being asked to contribute to. Roger Brooks International provides in depth analysis of communities from the objective viewpoint of a first-time visitor. The assessment is considered a valuable tool for communities seeking new methods to expand or improve tourism and provide a boost to the economy. Those interested in contributing can contact the Vernal Chamber or Uintah County Travel and Tourism.
