Commercial appraising is underway for next year’s tax season. According to Uintah County Assessor Barbara Simper, the Assessor Office’s commercial appraisers are currently working to appraise all commercial properties in Uintah County. Their work, which started in mid-June, could continue throughout the rest of 2016. As expected with economic downturn, the appraisals are lower but there is no way to tell right now by how much, explains Simper. The appraisal process is extensive and values for the 2017 tax season will not determined until late next spring.
