Charges Filed in Beaver Creek Fire

Officials have confirmed that charges have been filed in connection to the Beaver Creek Fire that has been burning in Western Colorado since June. The fire has burned around 60 square miles on the Wyoming/Colorado border. The fire began near Walden, Colorado but expanded and eventually crossed into Wyoming in July. Officials say that a youth has been charged with arson for a role in starting the Beaver Creek Fire. The youth’s identity and details about the circumstance that resulted in the fire has not been released.

Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006.
