Uintah County Sheriff’s Office stayed busy throughout the holiday but thankfully there were no major incidents reported. On Monday night, Search and Rescue were called out to look for a missing 14-year-old who had last been seen in an area west of Vernal. According to Uintah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Fletcher, the 14-year-old got lost while rabbit hunting in the Dog Valley area. Multiple agencies assisted, including the Classic Air Med helicopter. The boy was located and found in good condition. The Sheriff’s Office stayed busy since Christmas with a handful of traffic accidents, none of which reported any injuries, as well as deputies patrolling for impaired drivers. Deputies made 114 traffic stops between December 28th and January 2nd, reports Sgt. Fletcher, and one DUI arrest was made during that time period. Fletcher also reports there were several drug related arrests resulting from traffic stops.
