Busiest Travel Season of Year Wrapping Up

This weekend will wrap up a record breaking travel season. According to the AAA travel report, over 103 million Americans have traveled for year end holidays and a large chunk of those will be on the roads this weekend, on their way home. The year end holiday travel period will officially end on Monday, January 2nd. Local Highway Patrol will be on the roads ready to assist travelers and intervene in any dangerous situations, paying extra attention around the New Year holiday. “We will be working overtime to apprehend impaired drivers,” shares Highway Patrol Sgt. Kellie Oaks. “We encourage anyone celebrating to call a cab or a friend if you choose to drink. And for all drivers, always buckle up and slow down!” Multiple agencies will have extra patrols over the weekend looking for impaired drivers.
