Braxten “Tough” Nielsen Heads Home From Hospital

The man behind the ‘Braxten Tough’ tagline is back home to life on the ranch in Duchesne County. Even before his accident on August 31st, Braxten Nielsen could easily own the brand of Braxten Tough as a serious athlete and college rodeo star. The brand means even more now after Braxten sustained a serious injury while competing for the College of Southern Idaho during a PRCA rodeo. Braxten’s horse reared up and smashed him against the shoot, compressing and twisting his spinal cord. He was flown to University of Utah hospital and after surgery it was determined he is paralyzed from the waist down. Braxten spent 48 days working at the University of Utah Hospital in rehabilitation, determined to continue living his life. He has thanked his family and the Basin community for the outpouring of support and has even posted a video on the Braxten Tough Facebook page of him back home working cows as he operates the shoot while in his wheelchair.
