Beware of the Package Grinch!

The spirit of Christmas is in the air but local law agencies are still warning citizens to beware of an occasional grinch or two. Package theft is always a risk, shares Vernal City Assistant Police Chief Keith Campbell. “During this time of year, do not leave packages unattended after delivery. Have a neighbor or family member watch for deliveries and hold them for you.” Arrests were made locally of several individuals for multiple home and vehicle robberies throughout the region last month. With package deliveries increased for the holidays, thieves have a new easy target. “There are those that have proven that they will prey upon people this time of year,” shares Campbell, “and theft is usually on the rise when opportunity increases.” Keep your holidays merry and bright and stop any package grinch in their tracks by eliminating opportunity.
