Aquatic Center Enabling Growth for Roosevelt Swim Club

Roosevelt’s swim club has been around for a long time but the new Roosevelt Aquatic Center is enabling the program to grow to new heights. This month the club hosted its first regional swim meet, hosting the Vernal and Price teams. The meet was an absolute success and gave everyone a glimpse of what can come. “It was great to utilize the resources we have now from the timing system to the starting blocks,” says Aquatic Center Director Edwin Butterfield. “We have now got our feet on the ground for the potential of having a swim team someday.” If and when the school district starts a swim team, the swim club will still continue and will be expanded to include all ages. A lot of people enjoy swimming and racing just for fun, says Butterfield. The team at the Roosevelt Aquatic Center plans to see the program grow and reach new heights.
