Longhorn Days kicked off on Monday launching what is always a favorite time of the year in Altamont. This year’s theme calls all to “Celebrate Big Time In a Small Town” with activities lined up every day. Some of the highlights are the baby show today, pet show tomorrow, FFA Scholarship Jackpot on Thursday, rodeo on Friday, and of course back to back events all day Saturday starting with a pancake breakfast and ending with fireworks at dark. Auditions for the Children’s Theater Musical were held on Monday with the free performances scheduled for Saturday at the AHS Auditorium.
