Additional Charges in Family Poaching Cases

A family member of the former Utah couple found Guilty of poaching is also facing poaching charges. William and Jennifer Thompson will both pay restitution and serve time in Uintah County Jail, in 2-day increments, after being sentenced in March on multiple instances of poaching elk and deer. Jennifer Thompson’s stepfather, George Walsh, has been charged with three counts of felony Wanton Destruction of Protected Wildlife for offenses that took place in September 2016. Walsh made his initial appearance in 8th District Court in October and subsequent hearings have been held by telephone as he lives out of state. A status hearing for Walsh is scheduled for
April 17th.
