269 Uintah County Ballots Need Signature Verification

A significant amount of ballots in Uintah County need signature verification and those contacted have a window of time to come to the Clerk’s Office with I.D. in hand to ensure their ballot is counted. Uintah County Clerk-Auditor Mike Wilkins shared on Wednesday that 269 ballots had signature questions. Those with signatures in question will receive a letter in the mail with instructions for the voter to please come to the Clerk’s Office with a picture I.D. and verify the signature. Some also received phone calls. “We really want to count them,” shares Wilkins, “but we cannot till the signature is verified.” These voters have
until November 16th
to verify their signature. Wilkins confirmed that at least one race is too close to call and votes can make a difference in outcomes. Election canvassing will take place
on November 19th.
