Hearts were full and pocketbooks open at the 2017 Enchanted Forest Auction held Thursday, November 16th at the Crossroads Community Center in Roosevelt. The event, hosted by the Roosevelt Rotary Club and Duchesne County Chamber of Commerce, welcomed over 250 people. “A packed house witnessed a wonderful program and keynote address from the Utah 2016 Rotarian Governor Shawn Mitchell,” shares Chamber Director Irene Hansen. The program also featured a “heartfelt thank you offered by little Maddie Wood, a leukemia survivor, and her father. The Wood family had been a benefactor of the community’s generosity in recent years. Maddie came to the auction with an amount left from her donations to put towards a worthy cause at the evening’s events.” The Enchanted Forest had 21 trees this year that auctioned off for an amazing total of more than $179,000 dollars to benefit local charities and non-profits. The Help Hope Live Charity designated to assist Braxton Nielsen with his recovery raised a total of $50,000 dollars. The community enjoyed viewing the trees throughout the day on Friday and Saturday.
