Uintah Student and Athlete of the Week

The Uintah High School Student of the Week is ShaeLynn Terry, nominated by Mrs. Tiffany Manwaring. “ShaeLynn is a very hard worker,” shares Mrs. Manwaring. “Not only does she make the most of her time in class to finish projects, but she comes in before and after school to work...I am very impressed with her projects.” Congratulations ShaeLynn Terry, Uintah Student of the Week. The Ute Athlete of the Week is boys basketball player Hunter Severe, nominated by Coach Kenny Hardy. “Hunter is a junior on the varsity team who plays a starting role on the team,” shares Coach Hardy. “He is a great asset to our program and works hard every day to get better. Hunter plays the center position on the team and creates a lot of mismatch opportunities because of his height. He is always willing to learn and is always striving to get better.” Congratulations Hunter Severe, Ute Athlete of the Week.

Kristin Baldwin

Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
