Boats Endangering Swimmers At Swim Beach On Flaming Gorge

Boaters continue to ignore signage, putting swimmers in danger at Swim Beach on Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Ashley National Forest initially issued a safety warning in early July, urging boaters to pay attention to the buoys that form the perimeter labeled ‘No Boats’. Unfortunately, the problem continues as Ashley National Forest issued another plea this week, stating that law enforcement is involved now and that crossing the buoys with boats is considered a public health and safety risk to visitors swimming in the area. Swim Beach is a popular area for those visiting the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area located just north of Lucerne Marina on the west shore of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. There have also been issues around the marinas and Horseshoe Canyon wakeless zones. Please respect signs, buoys and others recreating on Flaming Gorge Reservoir.
