Vernal Downtown Revitalization Update

Vernal’s downtown revitalization efforts continue to advance. “The renovated historic Zions Bank will open at the end of June for full-time operations,” shares Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion. “The facade grant program has received a strong response with 17 applications submitted by business owners representing a total of $1 million dollars in investment. The utility work behind the Zions bank block is advertised for bid. The 100 West parking lot, patios and walkway will be bid in July.” A separate revitalization project includes property on 100 East. This spring, Vernal City Council entered into a purchase contract for the property on 100 East from Main Street to 100 South. The old laundry building, car storage lot and mechanic shop will be cleared and the property along 100 East will be sold to a developer for commercial or mixed use development to further the downtown plan.
