Duchesne County Pursues Creation Of Pioneer Special Service District

Duchesne County has started the process to establish a new Special Service District. On June 6th, the Duchesne County Commission adopted a resolution declaring the need to establish the Pioneer Special Service District to provide services including water, sewerage, drainage, flood control, and street lighting, among other possible things. If created, then taxes could be assessed on the benefitting properties. The boundaries and service area of the proposed District include certain properties on both sides of Highway 40 and immediately west of Sand Wash Road. The public hearing to determine whether the District will be created will be held on July 18th at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers of the Duchesne County Administration Building.  After the public hearing and 60-day protest period closes, the Board of County Commissioners will adopt a resolution either establishing the District, amending the District or abandoning the establishment of the District.
