K & K Sanitation Sponsoring UBTech Scholarship For Single Fathers

UBTech now has a scholarship specifically for single fathers thanks to the generosity of a local business. For 45 years K&K Sanitation, Inc. has been hauling trash away from homes and businesses in Duchesne County and Western Uintah County. Brothers, Mark and Elvin Kettle, started the business after they finished their uncle Carl Betts’ waste management contract with Roosevelt City. In 1998 entirely on their own, they constructed their office building in Ballard where K & K Sanitation headquarters are now located. Current company owners, Mark, Meredith and Marlene Kettle (Elvin passed away in 2015), have announced a partnership with Uintah Basin Technical College to offer the K & K Sanitation Scholarship that will be available for single fathers attending automotive, diesel, CDL, welding, or business programs at UBTech. “We just wanted to help,” shares Mark Kettle. “Let’s help someone find a trade and provide some extra financial assistance.”
