USU President Given A Special Medallion

Utah State University President Noelle Cockett was recently seen wearing a medallion with a major Uintah Basin connection. According to the USU Uintah Basin announcement, the beautiful hand beaded necklace was a gift from USU Uintah Basin faculty members, Marilyn and Cameron Cuch. The medallion was intended as a gift for the first female University President at Utah State and was commissioned by Marilyn when she heard Noelle Cockett was being appointed. Marilyn reached out to Tissy Cuch, cousin to Huntsman School of Business professor, Cameron Cuch. Tissy is a very well known and talented Ute Tribal member who beads for family and friends. The piece that was created features the USU colors and is an amazing display of talent. There is only one similar medallion like it, a medallion with the University of Utah drum and feather. That was given to former U of U President Ruth Watkins when she was the first female president of that university.
