New Agricultural Sciences Building Coming To Uintah High Campus

Uintah School District announced on Monday that construction on a new Agricultural Sciences classroom building at Uintah High School is moving forward. The District shared that construction of the new 6,000-square-foot Ag Sciences building is slated to begin in May. It will be built on district property directly east of Uintah High and north of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Seminary building. The new building will include classroom and lab space, as well as a flexible learning area. “We're excited to move forward with this construction project," shares Uintah School Board President Dave Chivers. "It's definitely time we do something for our kids who are interested in learning more about an industry that brings in lots of dollars for local families, for our area and our state…This new building will provide better access for kids of all abilities. The improved learning spaces will also make it easier for kids to have the hands-on experiences that can really bring classes like these to life…It's important for us to build up programs like our Ag program, which teaches kids skills that can help them make a living, support a family and contribute to our community." The project has been in the planning stages for several years. The district published a request for proposals from construction management firms or general contractors. The deadline is Thursday.
