Are You Dreaming Of A Uintah Basin Scientific White Christmas?

Many kids in the Uintah Basin love to have a White Christmas and are wishing and hoping for its arrival but what constitutes a “White Christmas”? Well there is a scientific definition for what makes a White Christmas. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a "White Christmas" is defined as having one inch or more of snow on the ground Christmas morning. Sadly only a dozen states have more than a 70% chance of starting their day with a fresh blanket of fluffy snow. Many locations in the region will likely have snow this month but it doesn't count if it fell days prior. Let's hope the odds are in our favor and we can enjoy a White Christmas.
